About SSLR

Southern Skies Labrador Rescue & Adoption (SSLR) is a 501c3 tax deductible non-profit dedicated to the rescue and adoption of Labradors and other working dog breeds that have been abandoned at Alabama high kill shelters, are owner surrenders and strays. We strive to communicate for the voiceless by working closely with local and national animal rescues and other groups for the benefit of animal welfare and to promote changes to our local Alabama laws. We dedicate ourselves to educating and communicating on the importance of spaying and neutering your pets to our local and neighboring communities.

Our team is a group comprised of highly educated executives, engineers, retirees and dedicated doggie professionals that are committed to seeking quality of life for Labradors like themselves that have been abandoned, surrendered and left in kill shelters.  They care about educating the youth and people of the South especially on the importance of spay and neutering doggie’s like them to help stop the massive killing on our domesticated best friends and strive towards a no-kill society.
